We took a trip to Kiyiköy, a small fishing village on the Thracian coast of the Black Sea - about a 2-hour drive northwest of Istanbul. The trip was organized by a political discussion group called Liberal Avrupa which Esra is a member of (Michael got to stay home with the twins).

We lunched on a large, delicious, home-cooked kalcan (turbot) and then listened to the music of a local singer accompanied by the ud (lute).
