A Korean BBQ, or sindad as it's known in Laos, is a very ingenious device. First, a clay pot filled with hot embers is inserted into your table. Sitting atop that is something that looks like the hubcap of a '56 Pontiac - but with holes in it.

Then they bring broth, greens, spices, sauces, meat and a couple of big chunks of fat to grease the grill. You add the broth to the lower rim of the grill and add greens and spices into that, then you throw the thinly sliced meats on top, then you order another round of delicious BeerLao. It's great fun, but I'm not ready to give up my Weber.
