We arrived in Buenos Aires in November with the Jacaranda trees in bloom, and we're leaving with the bloom of the "Boracho" trees that line many boulevards in the city.

It has a barrel-shaped trunk covered in thorns and produces this orchid-like flower throughout the month of February.

It's part of the master plan of Carlos Thays, this city's Parks and Walkways Director in the late 1800s.
