This is the island of Koh Tao ("Turtle Island"). It lies on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand about 400 km from Bangkok. Tourism is its mainstay. Scuba diving and snorkelling are very popular here thanks to its clear waters and its range of sealife. It's a great escape destination.
