The Citadel is large, it's perimeter measures 10 km. Inside there's a theater, library, palaces, residences, temples - even a couple of lakes.

Hué saw heavy military action during the 1968 Tet Offensive and large parts of the Citadel are now being restored.

This minor building, but one that has been completely redone, is the Queen Mother's residence and audience hall.
