You could be forgiven for believing that this is the entrance to Vietnam's Disneyland. In reality it's the main gate to the home of a most curious religion - CaoDaiism.

The CaoDai doctrine is a fusion of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism - with a dash of Christianity and Islam thrown into the mix. The sacred writings are based on séances held in the late 1920's by the founder, Ngo Minh Chieu.

Among the faith's panoply of 'saints' are, Victor Hugo, Joan of Arc, Rene Descartes, William Shakespeare and Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.
