Our hotelier described Seville as the perfect sized city - not too big, not too small. He's right. And it's a delightful, vibrant, captivating, friendly, beautiful place with lots on offer. We stayed 3 nights, we could have stayed longer.

But no one stays in the city during the summer months when temperatures can reach 45º C (113º F). The natives head either to the nearby mountains or beaches.

As with almost all Andalucían cities Seville was once controlled by Moors. This campanile is now part of the Cathedral but was formerly the minaret of a mosque.
