There are no local newspapers in Tlacotalpan but this VW with 4 megaphones straddled on its roof, is the town crier. Beginning at 8:30 every morning a young man gets behind the wheel, pops in a cassette, cranks up the volume and parades through town at about 5 mph, blaring news of the day.

Like any newspaper there's something of interest for everyone. Sports, Public Service Announcements, Obituaries, (accompanied by “Ave Maria”). But, as with all major newspapers, advertising takes up the most space, or in this case, the most noise.
