| Like Angkor, the Wat Phu Champasak switched from Hindu to Buddhist sometime in the 13th century. It's easy to do. Throw an orange robe over the shoulder of any figure and it becomes Buddha. But the more recent sculptures are nowhere near as beautiful and evocative as the Khmer reliefs. |  |
