There's Saint John the Baptist on the right, Jesus in the middle, but what I find intriguing about this mosaic, which covers the dome of the 5th century Arian Baptistry in Ravenna, is the anachronistic presence of 'Old Man River' on the left - a figure held over from pagan times and representing the Jordan River. The surrounding figures are the apostles.
