Some say you can't take it with you. But the Torajans aren't buying that. They bury their dead with as much as can fit into the grave with them. And as you might expect, this leads to some plundering.

To make it more difficult for would-be grave robbers, people began "burying" their dead in caves that they hollowed out of granite mountainsides. It's not easy to get up there. The coffins go as deep as possible into the caves. On balconies outside them you can see hand-carved Tau Tau: life-like wooden effigies of the deceased.
