I'm convinced that if you were to pick up a shovel and dig just about anywhere in the desert west of the Nile you would come up with a tomb or two. This is Saqqara, the necropolis for ancient Memphis where archeologist continue to find new tombs - or I should say old tombs. Memphis was the seat of government of Ancient Egypt during the early dynasties of the Old Kingdom (≈ 2600 BC), before the capital moved upriver to Thebes.
